The Baby Drop Cheek Elliptical from Bombers is a Baucher Bit that combines an eggbutt-like ring with a short upper shank. The rein attaches to the fixed, eggbutt-shaped ring while the cheekpiece attaches to the upper shank. This design ensures the mouthpiece remains very still in the horse's mouth, while the side parts rest steadily against the horse's face. This results in even and steady contact with light pressure over the poll, primarily targeting the bars. The bit is used without a curb chain and is also known as a Baucher bit. The upper shank measures 4.5 cm. The Elliptical mouthpiece is double jointed with a 45 mm long, elliptically shaped center piece. It provides slightly stronger action than a Control Plate as the pressure is concentrated on a smaller area against the tongue. This makes the bit suitable for horses that tend to press against the bit with their tongue, encouraging the horse to lighten the contact and become more adjustable.
