Halters and lead ropes are used by virtually everyone who ever needs to lead their horse or pony from point A to point B and probably need no further description. You can find everything from cheaper halters in cotton and nylon to leather halters that have a much longer lifespan.

Lead ropes come in similar materials, with cotton being the most popular among us, at least because there is much less risk of friction burns if the horse should pull the lead rope out of your hand, compared to a lead rope made of, for example, nylon. However, nylon is often more durable, but the recommendation is to lead while wearing gloves.
