  • Eggbutt Bradoon Soft Contact is a double jointed snaffle bit with an anatomical fit that follows the shape of the horse's mouth, enabling gentle and even pressure distribution. Made of Cuprigan with fixed Eggbutt rings in stainless steel. Cuprigan is an alloy consisting of 89% copper, 7% aluminum, 3% iron, and 1% zinc, whose effect stimulates both the chewing process and increases saliva production.

When Cuprigan material comes into contact with moisture, air, and heat, it undergoes a rust reaction called oxidation. This results in a sweet taste on the bit's surface, making it easier for many horses to accept.

A double jointed bit has two breakpoints, allowing the bit to conform optimally to the horse's anatomy. The middle part lies flat on the horse's tongue, exerting even pressure throughout the horse's mouth, unlike a single jointed bit whose breakpoint exerts greater pressure on the outside of the tongue, the bars, and the palate. This particular bit also has a slightly curved shape, which further reduces pressure on the bars and makes the bit milder than a regular three-jointed bit.

Bits with fixed Eggbutt rings are more stable in the horse's mouth than a bit with loose rings, which is more flexible and allows the horse to determine how it should lie. Bits with fixed rings are usually recommended for young horses, horses in training, or horses that have difficulty finding support on the bit. They typically perform better on bits with fixed rings where they receive more support. However, more seasoned horses are preferably ridden with bits with loose rings, as they provide a quicker release, making them also very suitable for beginners on horseback.

The bit's thickness is 12mm. The diameter of the rings is 5cm.
