  • Eggbutt Snaffle Soft Contact Magic System is a double jointed bridle bit with lock-up function. Made of Cuprigan with fixed bit rings in stainless steel. Cuprigan is an alloy, consisting of 89% copper, 7% aluminum, 3% iron, and 1% zinc, whose effect both stimulates the chewing process and increases saliva production.

When Cuprigan material comes into contact with moisture, air, and heat, a rust reaction called oxidation occurs. This results in a sweet taste on the surface of the bit, making it easier for many horses to accept.

A double jointed bit has two breakpoints, allowing the bit to conform optimally to the horse's anatomy. The middle part lies flat on the horse's tongue, exerting even pressure throughout the horse's mouth, unlike a single jointed bit whose breakpoint exerts greater pressure on the outside of the tongue, the bars, and the palate. Additionally, this particular bit's curved shape, combined with the lock-up function, further reduces pressure on the bars, making it milder than a regular double jointed bit. The lock-up function locks the bit to a certain degree, preventing it from folding as much as a bit without lock-up.

Bits with fixed rings are more stable in the horse's mouth than bits with loose rings, which are more flexible and allow the horse to determine how it should lie. Bits with fixed rings are usually recommended for young horses, horses in training, or horses that have difficulty getting support on the bit. They typically work better on bits with fixed rings where they receive more support. However, more seasoned horses are preferably ridden with bits with loose rings, as they provide a quicker release, making them also very suitable for beginners on horseback.

The thickness of the bit is 12mm. The diameter of the rings is 6.5cm.
