Straight, flexible eggbutt bit from Lippo with 2.5 rings. The flexible mouthpiece, which adapts to the horse’s movements, is made of UV-stabilised polyurethane and reinforced with an embedded steel wire for extra durability and safety.
Straight bits provide more stability and an evenly distributed pressure in the horse’s mouth compared to, for example, a single jointed snaffle. This bit also features a softer, bendable mouthpiece that adapts better to the horse’s mouth and movements.
2.5 rings allow the rider to vary the bit’s effect depending on where the reins are attached. The rein can be fastened to different rings, affecting the leverage and thereby the pressure on the horse’s mouth and poll. This can give the rider more control and a clearer signal, but it is a sharp bit that should only be used by experienced riders with soft hands, and with an awareness of its mechanical action adjusted to the horse’s level of training and sensitivity.
The bit’s thickness is 12–18 mm, with 12 mm at the center of the mouthpiece.
