The DUO Flexible Plastic bit from Sprenger is a loose ring bit and, like all DUO bits from Sprenger, features a mouthpiece made from soft, flexible plastic with a steel core that provides stability and safety and prevents the bit from being bitten through. The slightly thickened bit rings contribute to a stable and calm position in the mouth. The mouthpiece can be used either straight or with tongue relief, depending on how the bit is fitted.
The bit has a thickness of 16 mm. The ring diameter is 55 mm in size 115 mm and 70 mm in sizes 125 mm, 135 mm, and 145 mm.
Sprenger’s DUO bits are made from food-safe, solvent-free materials and contain no plasticisers.
Plastic bits and bits with plastic components should be cleaned regularly with water and checked for wear. Marks caused by contact with the horse’s teeth can lead to sharp edges, especially on plastic bits, which may cause injuries in the mouth. Plastic bits are softer than metal bits and should not come into contact with the horse’s teeth.
