The Double Jointed Novocontact Sensogan Bit Ø70 mm from Sprenger is a double jointed bit with modern novocontact geometry. The mouthpiece features an ergonomic design and forms an oval shape that provides an enlarged contact surface on the tongue during even rein contact. When the rider applies stronger rein aids, the mouthpiece rotates forward, reducing the contact surface and enabling more precise and effective communication.
This model is designed for horses that become strong in the hand but are too sensitive for more severe bits.
The bit has a thickness of 14 mm and a ring diameter of 70 mm.
The bit is made from Sensogan, an alloy of copper, manganese, and zinc. The manganese hardens the copper without affecting the natural oxidation process, making it possible to achieve the same oxidation behaviour as Aurigan, despite a lower copper content.
Sensogan bits should be thoroughly cleaned with water after each use and then dried. As the material contains copper, oxidation may cause the bit to darken and lose its shine over time. If necessary, Sprenger Diamond Paste can be used for cleaning and maintenance.
