The horse's lower legs are designed in a way that exposes the tendons to very high stress. However, since there is no additional supportive tissue in the lower leg and around the tendons, or at least not more than what is absolutely necessary for springy elasticity, it is not uncommon for horses to suffer from various types of tendon injuries. And this type of injury often requires a long resting period to heal.
By choosing high-quality boots that cover and protect the most sensitive parts of the horse's legs, and absorb the force from various impacts and blows, you can reduce the risk of tendon injuries. High-quality boots also provide increased stability to both tendons and joints, which, in turn, reduces the risk of overextension, overexertion, or incorrect loading.
The drawback, however, is that boots, by enclosing the horse's legs, which is also necessary to protect the tendons from impacts and blows, often trap and store heat around the horse's legs. Excessive heat can potentially damage the tendon tissue.
Arma's boots offer complete protection against impacts and blows and are designed with perforated TPG foam, made from recycled materials, waffle-weave lining, and additional shock-absorbing EPA reinforcements in the most vulnerable areas. However, the difference with the exclusive Oxi-Zone technology is the unique combination of beeswax-shaped Air Motion 3D mesh, targeted ventilation in the outer shell of the boots, and an interior fabric with an open structure. Oxi-Zone boots, unlike many other boots, provide 360° ventilation and optimal airflow. They dissipate heat, reduce moisture levels, and keep the air around the horse's legs circulating, rather than trapping moisture and raising the temperature.
And as if that weren't enough, the ventilated boots also feature Pierce Proof metal mesh to prevent penetration by sharp objects and debris.
The model with soft, fluffy faux fur trim minimizes chafing and adds that luxurious, extravagant feeling - without in any way affecting the fantastic benefits of Oxi-Zone technology. The faux fur is only a trim around the edge of the boots, and on the inside, the lining is exactly the same as in the model without faux fur.
The boots have elastic straps and are quickly and securely fastened with a convenient Velcro closure.
