Zandona Basic Chafe Guard is an elastic protective band designed to help protect the horse’s skin from rubbing, abrasions and sore spots around sensitive areas. The black guard is made from highly elastic fabric that offers close contact and flexibility while helping to shield already irritated areas from further friction. Its simple, lightweight construction provides effective everyday protection while maintaining maximum sensitivity and freedom of movement.
Basic Chafe Guard features a double hook-and-loop fastening system for secure closure, and four loops, two on each side, so the guard can be attached to different types of girths for improved stability. It is 100% made in Italy. Size S measures 170 cm and is suitable for a chest/girth circumference of 170–189 cm and girths of 110–120 cm. Size M measures 185 cm and is suitable for a chest/girth circumference of 190–219 cm and girths of 125–135 cm. Size L/XL measures 200 cm and is suitable for a chest/girth circumference of 220–249 cm and girths of 140–150 cm.
Please note that Basic Chafe Guard is naturally subject to wear and may have a shorter lifespan than Superior Chafe Guard EVO, particularly with intensive use or when used with spurs, which Zandona strongly discourages. Improper use, including use with spurs, may significantly shorten the product’s lifespan and is not considered a product defect.
