BioMineral Total is a complementary feed for horses containing a well-balanced combination of macro- and microminerals with high biological availability. The product is designed to complement the daily ration when the feed does not provide sufficient minerals and helps support the normal function of the skeleton, muscles, joints and the body.
BioMineral Total contains the macrominerals calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and silicon together with the trace elements iron, copper, iodine, zinc, manganese and organic selenium. These minerals are essential for the body's metabolism, the development of the skeleton and musculature, as well as numerous enzymatic and other physiological processes.
The product has high biological availability, is palatable and easy to dose. It is suitable for daily use in horses whose diet requires additional mineral supplementation.
Each scoop provides 4 g calcium, 1.25 g phosphorus, 0.5 g magnesium, 1 g silicon, 10 mg iron, 0.6 mg iodine, 40 mg copper, 75 mg manganese, 110 mg zinc and 0.5 mg selenium.
The calcium/phosphorus ratio (Ca/P) is 3.2.
Use
All horses require a regular supply of minerals to maintain normal body functions and good overall health. BioMineral Total is intended as a daily supplement to forage to help meet the horse's mineral requirements. Remember that horses on pasture also require a mineral supplement. Grass and sunlight usually provide sufficient vitamins, but they do not supply all the minerals the horse needs. Continue providing minerals consistently throughout the grazing season to help prevent nutritional deficiencies during and after the pasture period.
Signs of mineral deficiency may include:
Recurring mud fever, sweet itch, tail rubbing or other skin irritation, reduced appetite, decreased fertility, rickets, brittle bones, osteoporosis, diarrhoea, weight loss, lethargy, muscle problems, cramping and poor hoof and coat quality.
Imbalances in energy and protein intake are often noticed relatively quickly. Mineral deficiencies, however, may not become apparent until they are already well advanced.
