The Comfort Bar is anatomical and lies evenly over the tongue and bars, shaped to provide more space for the tongue. Thanks to its shape, the Comfort Bar remains very still in the horse's mouth. Mullen mouth bits are generally considered very mild. The soft Comfort Bar is ideal for young and sensitive horses.
Using the lower rein on a Curb Gag bit exerts pressure on the jaw through the strap, while the bit also acts on the bars. However, if you use only the upper rein, the bit functions like a regular baucher bit. This bit is very popular for horses that become strong and pull downwards/forwards. Additionally, it is very gentle on the horse's mouth as the pressure is distributed, and the horse's jawbone shares some of its corrective effect instead of just the mouth.
