Cavallo's well-known hoof boots, also called barefoot shoes, are a pair of innovative, on-and-off removable horse shoes that, when needed, provide effective protection for the unshod hoof from both hard and abrasive surfaces as well as ice and slippery conditions. Cavallo Hoof Boots, in other words, have similar properties to a regular iron shoe, but with the difference that they can be put on and taken off at any time. Ideal when your unshod horse needs to walk a distance on hard surfaces, or if it perhaps has slightly sensitive soles. The hoof boots are also suitable for use in cases of laminitis or other hoof problems, alternatively as a temporary solution when your horse has lost a shoe.
This particular model, the Trek Hoof Boots, is Cavallo's most durable, flexible, and well-ventilated variant. The upper is made of high-tech Pro Mesh with a honeycomb structure, which maximizes the boots' durability while maintaining their low weight and high comfort. The underside is made of molded TPU, and Regular Sole means that they are designed to fit a round hoof. However, if your horse has a slightly more oval-shaped hoof, there is also the Trek Slim Sole.
The barefoot shoes are easily slipped over the hooves and then fastened with smooth, replaceable Velcro straps. The hoof boots should have a snug and close fit that follows the horse's hoof. Sold in pairs.
