This airbag vest from Veredus is an innovative safety vest that combines advanced technology with smart design. With both an airbag and an integrated back protector, the vest is developed for riders who want full protection – whether during training or competition.
The airbag vest offers double protection through an ATP40 level 2-certified back plate and an airbag system with a 45-gram gas cartridge, which activates in just 80 milliseconds in the event of a fall. The airbag is certified according to European standard EN 1621/4:2013 and the back protector according to EN 1621/2:2014, ensuring reliable protection while riding. The back protector is made of polyurethane that adapts to the shape and movements of the back with body heat.
Made of stretchy and breathable fabric for optimal freedom of movement and comfort. The airbag is easy to remove for cleaning, the vest attaches smoothly to the saddle, and the refill cartridge can be quickly replaced when needed. When the airbag and back protector are removed, the vest can be machine washed.
Includes an airbag vest, an Airbag Activation Cable, a saddle strap/Y-strap and a cartridge. If you later need a new Airbag Activation Cable, Y-Strap, or cartridge, these are also sold separately.
The vest meets safety level 2 and is approved for competition if you are over 18 years old.
Instructions for use
The vest is designed to be worn close to the body, so it is important to only wear a thin layer underneath, such as a light shirt. Avoid wearing other garments over the vest unless it is a specific approved item clearly marked for use with an airbag vest.
For proper activation, the elastic strap must be attached to the Y-shaped saddle strap. This strap is mounted in the stirrup leather hooks on both sides of the saddle after temporarily removing the stirrup leathers. Once the strap is in place, reattach the stirrups, and then position the fastening loop centered above the saddle.
Always remember to detach the vest from the saddle strap before dismounting the horse to avoid accidental airbag deployment.
Size & fit
For the best protection, the vest must fit correctly. Use a measuring tape and follow the size chart carefully to ensure you choose the right size for your body. The vest should fit snugly (over clothing) without being too tight or uncomfortable. During riding, you should feel full freedom of movement, and the vest should not touch the back of the saddle. The Standard and Long Fit versions help ensure a perfect fit for all riders.
