Trikem Probiotic Pro is a highly concentrated probiotic supplement developed to support the horse's intestinal flora and contribute to a stable and well-functioning gastrointestinal environment. The product combines active yeast, lactic acid bacteria and inulin and provides a total of 27 billion live bacteria and microorganisms per daily dose for a 500 kg horse.
The horse's digestive system depends on a stable microflora to break down fibre in forage and utilise the nutrients in the feed. At the same time, the intestinal flora is sensitive to changes and can be affected by factors such as stress, changes in feed, transport, changes in environment and medication. Probiotic Pro can therefore be given both daily and during periods when the horse's intestinal flora is exposed to additional strain.
Carefully formulated ingredients
Probiotic Pro contains Saccharomyces cerevisiae NCYC Sc 47 4b1702, an active yeast and EU-approved probiotic feed additive. The yeast acts primarily in the hindgut, where it helps stabilise the intestinal environment and support fermentation.
The product also contains Lactobacillus acidophilus CECT 4529, live lactic acid bacteria that contribute to a beneficial microflora in the gastrointestinal tract.
Inulin is a natural fibre with prebiotic properties. It passes through the small intestine and reaches the hindgut, where it serves as nourishment for beneficial bacteria and complements the product's probiotic microorganisms.
Probiotic Pro is vegan and contains no animal protein.
When is Probiotic Pro recommended?
Probiotic Pro can be used as daily support for the horse's intestinal flora and is particularly suitable during changes in feed, for example when transitioning from pasture to hay or when changing to a new batch of forage. It can also be given during stressful periods, such as competitions, transport and changes in environment, as well as during temporary gastrointestinal disturbances, such as loose stools or gas.
The product can also be used after completed medication or a course of antibiotics to support the intestinal flora during recovery.
Use and daily dosage
Probiotic Pro is mixed into the horse's feed and can be given daily or as a course during acute or preventive periods.
Large horse, 500 kg: 10 ml (10 g) per day.
Pony, 250 kg: 5 ml (5 g) per day.
10 ml (10 g) corresponds to 2 tsp.
In case of acute need or major changes in feed, the daily dose can be increased for a limited period to provide additional support for the intestinal flora.
Ingredients and analytical constituents
Digestibility enhancers: Saccharomyces cerevisiae NCYC Sc 47 4b1702, 1.5 × 10¹⁰ CFU per 10 ml (10 g) and 1.5 × 10¹² CFU per kg. Lactobacillus acidophilus CECT 4529, 1.2 × 10¹⁰ CFU per 10 ml (10 g) and 1.2 × 10¹² CFU per kg.
Composition: Inulin.
Analytical constituents: Crude protein 22.0%, crude oils and fats 5.0%, crude fibre 3.0%, crude ash 4.0%, calcium 750 mg/kg, sodium 2,000 mg/kg and phosphorus 7,600 mg/kg.
Storage and shelf life
Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place. See the best-before date on the packaging. Once opened, the package should be used within 3 months, as the live microorganisms are sensitive to oxygen and moisture. After three months, the dose can be increased slightly to continue achieving maximum effect.
The packaging should be recycled as plastic.
