NAF's Electro Lytes is used to replace the four essential body salts (sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium) that can be lost when a horse sweats a lot, especially during strenuous exercise or in hot weather. A horse with healthy electrolyte levels is less likely to suffer from fatigue, which can lead to decreased performance.
You can easily add the supplement to the daily feed ration or the horse's water. Regardless of whether you choose to mix the supplement in the feed or water, it's important to ensure that the horse has access to plenty of water whenever electrolytes are given. If you're looking for a larger package, you can also find Electro Lytes Liquid 4L.
For horses in maximum work or during extremely hot weather, it is recommended to feed a more concentrated form of electrolytes, such as NAF's Electro Salter. Keep in mind that the horse needs access to plenty of water when this supplement is given as well.
