  • Information
  • The DC Morgan was designed to minimize pressure in the horse's mouth, creating a safe and gentle communication between the horse and rider. The key feature of the sidepiece is the loose ring, which can also rotate. It reduces the pressure on the neck and jaw and is not affected by rein aids.

The reins are attached to the large D-ring, which moves independently of the sidepiece. The mouthpiece is fixed to the sidepiece, with a solid surface that encourages the horse to take support on the bit. The DC Morgan sidepiece can be combined with many of Bombers' mouthpieces, and Bombers themselves strongly recommend combining this sidepiece with a ported and swivel mouthpiece.

The classic Bombers bit with a port is uniquely designed to provide maximum tongue relief. Most of the pressure should be distributed over the bars, and a proper fit is necessary to limit any lateral movement and to provide the tongue relief that the bit is designed for.

The swivel allows the mouthpiece to naturally follow the horse's movements and comfortably stay in place in the mouth.

  • About the Brand
  • Bombers bits are handcrafted, anatomically designed bits made in South Africa. The majority of Bombers bits are made from what's known as sweet iron, a metal that is blue when the bit is new but rusts and becomes sweet and warm in the horse's mouth with use. This leads to improved saliva production and greater acceptance of the bit. Bombers bits also have a slightly rounded shape on the mouthpiece, which distributes pressure more evenly in the mouth and reduces the risk of pressure sores.
