  • Information
  • The Micklem bridle has become a popular addition to the bridle market, serving an important function with its ergonomic design. The entire design is based on adapting the bridle to the horse's anatomy, thus avoiding pressure on sensitive areas of the face. Made from high-quality leather with soft padding on the poll, nose, and more.

Some clear differences from a regular bridle include the following:

    1. The noseband sits higher, avoiding pressure on the sensitive nasal bones, and the lower strap is angled to function like a traditional noseband. The higher strap also prevents pressure on the sensitive nerves in that area, which in the worst case could cause numbness and discomfort for the horse.
    2. The headpiece is broader to avoid sharp pressure on the poll and is well-padded, making the Micklem Competition Bridle very comfortable for the horse.
    3. The cheekpieces are positioned so they do not press on the protruding jawbones, a sensitive point on the face.
    4. Ensures that no pressure is applied to the tooth row, where otherwise chafing and damage to the soft parts of the horse's mouth can occur.

How to fit the Rambo Micklem Competition Bridle:

Refer to the image above for the different parts.
    1. Start by attaching the bit to the bit strap with the buckle facing outward. Then attach it to the rings at the end of the cheekpiece as shown in the picture.
    2. The key to fitting your Micklem bridle is to ensure that the noseband is about 2-3 centimeters higher than the corners of the mouth to avoid pressure on sensitive areas.
    3. The rear strap (jaw strap, although it sits further forward) should be in line with the skin, not loose like a traditional jaw strap.
    4. The noseband should be fastened in front of the bit like a traditional noseband close to the skin.
    5. The bit straps come in two different lengths; try which one fits your horse's anatomy best.
