The Acavallo Rel-X 180 are lightweight blue safety stirrups featuring an innovative side opening that can rotate 180°. The system is designed to help release the foot in the event of a fall, whether the rider goes forwards, sideways or backwards, while a strategically positioned locking and release mechanism reduces the risk of the stirrup opening unintentionally.
The stirrups are made from high-tech metal and flexible polymers, resulting in a more compliant feel and reduced stiffness compared to traditional stirrups. The opening arm is made of aluminium, while the pins and internal components are stainless steel. The stainless steel footplate features a Grip System for secure traction and long horizontal openings that help prevent the build-up of sand and dirt. The footplate is set at a 5° angle to promote a correct and comfortable foot position.
The Rel-X 180 has a footplate width of 12.5 cm, weighs 519 g and has a maximum load capacity of 150 kg. The stirrups also benefit from a shot-peened surface treatment for increased durability.
