Biotin, also known as vitamin H, supports the horse's production of keratin, a substance that is important for maintaining the quality of the hoof wall. Daily intake of biotin increases both the quality and growth of the hoof horn. Poor hooves can cause various problems for the horse, including lameness and difficulties with shoeing.
