Trikem Gastro is a smart supplement for horses with sensitive stomachs – or for periods when the stomach needs a little extra support. It is suitable both for daily use and in connection with stress, competition, travel or medication.
Many horses are negatively affected by stomach acid, especially during changes in environment or routines. Gastro contains 35 % lecithin – a natural substance that helps protect the stomach lining. Together with polysaccharides it forms a gel that settles as a protective layer in the stomach, much like a balm. It can reduce the risk of irritation and discomfort, especially in sensitive individuals.
To provide an even better effect, Gastro also contains Maerl – a red algae from the sea that buffers stomach acid and helps keep the pH level stable for a longer period. This allows the stomach to function better, even during periods when the horse is more exposed.
Since horses produce stomach acid all the time, even when they are not eating, it is important that the stomach has good protection – especially for competition horses, young horses or individuals that are easily affected by stress.
Gastro can be given daily or when needed, for example in connection with competitions, feed changes or medication. The feed supplement is in powder form and easy to administer, contains no substances with competition withdrawal periods and is recommended by veterinarians.
Gastro is recommended for:
- Horses with sensitive stomachs.
- Horses with previous stomach problems during stressful periods, e.g. environmental changes and travel. In connection with medication affecting stomach and intestines.
