The Kentucky Horsewear Heavy Melange is a heavier black fleece rug designed to combine warmth, moisture transport and breathability. It is made from a warm and durable melange fleece material, suitable for daily use after, for example, training, bathing or during transport, and can be used all year round when the horse needs a warming and moisture-transporting rug.
The material has a high absorption capacity and wicks moisture from the horse’s body to the outside of the rug, helping the coat to dry while keeping the horse warm. According to the manufacturer, the coat can dry within approximately 5–10 minutes, depending on coat length and the prevailing conditions. The breathable fleece material supports good air circulation and temperature regulation, while the heavier quality is adapted for regular use.
The Heavy Melange features a melange design with discreet piping. At the front, the rug closes with artificial leather details, and at the back there is a tail cord that helps keep it in place. A removable inner surcingle adds extra stability without affecting the rug’s clean outer look.
